About Me

Oladayo Ogunbowale is a Media and Communications professional. His experience spans across Media/Communication project design, incubation, developing media campaigns for social causes and policy development for organizations and government agencies. He has completed a series of high level training on Fact checking with ICFJ AfricaCheck, Africa Resilience Network and the US Consulate general, Lagos, respectively. In 2022, he was certified as an International trainer by the United States Institute for Peace (USIP), after completing the mandatory ‘Training-of-Trainers’ session in Kigali, Rwanda. Until January 2020, he led the Business Development Unit, was a Program producer and News analyst at Metropolitan Broadcasting Services, owners of Nigeria's premier business radio; IBR 92.5FM and IATV. In February 2019, he was among selected broadcast journalists in Nigeria that was trained by former CNN senior producer and Howard University Professor; Prof Jennifer Thomas during a media proficiency training organised by the United States consulate general, Lagos, Nigeria May 2018 and 2019, he was selected for Youthhub Africa, Child Rights Media Advocacy Fellowship supported by Malala Fund. By March 2018, he was on a select media personality team that interacted with the Nigerian Vice president (Prof Yemi Osinbajo) at his residence in the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, Nigeria. Oladayo is a 2015 fellow of the United States Institute for Peace (USIP) Generation Change Programme. He is the founder of Shanah Initiative for Human Development (SIHD), formerly Change Nigeria Alliance since 2012. As a development (broadcast) Journalist, he produced and presented 'Development Update' a weekly radio program designed for stakeholders in the Development sector and also doubled as Lead News analyst on Radio and TV, first at Metropolitan Broadcasting Service; owners of Impact Business Radio, IBR 92.5FM & IATV and later at the prestigious Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (Oluyole 98.5FM and later BCOS TV).
